Darksiders Genesis, War Sometimes Changes its Genre

Darksiders is a franchise that has always found itself taking ques from other genres and crafting a game built around the characters they created. Darksiders Genesis takes this a step further by taking the Darksiders IP to the isometric perspective with a bit of that loot and skill systems people love from games like Diablo. But does switching this genre up so drastically come with any issues along the way?
